General crisis plan for crisis management when food poses a risk to human health.

This Plan, based on the provisions of the Montenegrin Law on food safety, provides for terms and contents of the national General crisis plan for crisis management when food poses a risk to human health. Crisis situation in the field of food and feed safety is a situation when food or animal feed poses a direct or indirect risk to human, animal or environmental safety and health, that cannot be prevented, eliminated or reduced to an acceptable level by applying measures determined by related legislation. Crisis situations include the following: the occurrence of a serious, direct or indirect risk to human health and/or condition; possibilities that the risk has spread or could spread through much of the nutrition or diet chain; high probability that the risk will spread over a large part of the territory of the Republic of Montenegro, including threats for neighboring states.
