Abstract
This Law regulates the Montenegrin internal market in terms of trading rules (for both retail and wholesale), and stipulates the necessary principles and correct relations between all participants.
This text also sets the conditions and possible/or recognized forms and types of trade, protection from unfair competition in trade and supervision over the application of such rules for both retail and wholesale. The trader performs trade freely and under the same conditions on the market in accordance with the law, ratified international agreements and good business practices, in a generally controlled and safe manner that shall not cause harm to other traders, consumers or to general interests.
The provisions of this Law shall also apply to: persons registered for carrying out activities of production that sell their products on the market; non-governmental organizations that, in order to fulfill their statutory goals, sell certain goods; natural persons engaged in agricultural production, when their agricultural products are sold on the market, and other natural persons engaged in an activity whose products can be sold; natural persons who, on the basis of a contract with a registered trader, perform for a retailer type of sale that includes certain financial margin for them as final resellers or distributors.
Article 20 sets the conditions for trading (sale) of animal origin products, fruits, vegetables and other agricultural or similar products on public markets. Chapter V provides for related offences and penalties.
