Abstract
This Law establishes the principles and related rules for Montenegrin national parks.
National parks are here defined as exceptional and multiple natural values that have an ecological, economic, scientific, historical, aesthetic, cultural, educational and recreational function.
List of national parks is in the article 2; list of physical boundaries in the Chapter II.
This text sets the provisions as regards the protection, promotion and use of land and forest, use and management of water, of plant and animal life and other natural wealth that is present on the territory of national parks, social interest and right to compensation or tax reduction; offences and penalties (Chapter VII).
The protection and improvement of national parks is accomplished in particular by: providing conditions for effective control, protection, promotion and rational use of national parks and their resources; creating favorable conditions for the maintenance and development of plant and animal; preserving and promoting such special natural values; preserving and restoring cultural monuments; research and use of national parks for the development of science, tourism, culture and recreation; preventing actions that may impair the basic characteristics and aspects of national parks.
