Abstract
This National Plan, based on the provisions of the Montenegrin Law on plant protection products, provides for planned measures for the sustainable use of plant protection products, planned for the period from 2021 to 2026. The objectives of the National Plan are defined in a way that ensures the achievement of sustainable use of pesticides by reducing their negative impact, reducing the risk to human health and the environment, while promoting integrated and non-chemical measures pest control, or alternative approaches and techniques to reduce dependence on actual pesticide use. This text further transposes the rules contained in the Directive 2009/128/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing a framework for Community action to achieve the sustainable use of pesticides; Commission Directive (EU) 2019/782 amending Directive 2009/128/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards the establishment of harmonised risk indicators; Regulation (EC) No. 1107/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council concerning the placing of plant protection products on the market and repealing Council Directives 79/117/EEC and 91/414/EEC; and Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No. 540/2011 implementing Regulation (EC) No. 1107/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards the list of approved active substances.
