Abstract
This Program establishes measures for monitoring food and feed safety based on individual monitoring: the presence of residues of prohibited substances, veterinary drugs to monitor compliance with withdrawal periods, other substances and contaminants of the animal environment in live animals, their excretions, body fluids, tissues, products of animal origin, animal feed and water for animal drinking, the use of antimicrobials, pesticides in food, the presence of nitrates in leafy vegetables, microbiological criteria in food, the safety of shellfish, contaminants in food, acrylamide in certain food categories, substances whose use is restricted (trans fatty acids, except those that occur naturally in animal fats), undesirable substances in animal feed; quality and salt content in bakery products and products of animal origin; quality of olives and olive oil; quality of honey; quality/composition of food and the way of providing information to consumers about food; the presence of genetically modified material in food and feed, the safety of objects and materials that come into contact with food in order to verify the compliance of food, feed and objects and materials that come into contact with food with the prescribed safety and quality requirements.
The Program determines the types of hazards in food, the conditions and method of monitoring, the method of taking samples, laboratory testing methods, bodies/organizations that carry out monitoring, funds for financing the program, measures to be taken in the event of determining the presence of hazards in food and feed, other data relevant to the implementation of the program in the previous period and related activities and actions in order to determine the cause and origin of non-compliance.
