Program for monitoring the trade of plant protection products for 2024.

This Montenegrin Monitoring Program for monitoring the trade of plant protection products for the year 2024 determines the operators, number of facilities and checklists for the retail and/or wholesale trade of plant protection products, i.e. imports and customs warehouses. The goal of the Program is to check the conditions in the facilities for the retail and/or wholesale trade of plant protection products. In Montenegro, 44 importers/wholesale outlets and 90 distributors for the retail trade of pesticides are registered. The Program sets priorities in accordance with the decision on registration, market coverage, in accordance with the risk analysis, and based on the evidence of irregularities identified so far, with the aim of determining the actual situation in the trade of pesticides in facilities registered for the trade of plant protection products in terms of staff and equipment through the application of the checklists given in the Annex of this text.
This text also supports the implementation of the National Plan for sustainable use of plant protection products for the period from 2021 to 2026. This text further transposes the provisions related to storage of pesticides as regulated in articles 6 and 13 of the Directive 2009/128/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing a framework for Community action to achieve the sustainable use of pesticides.
