Abstract
This Programme, as in accordance with terms of the Law on food safety, sets out measures aimed to implement the monitoring over the safety of food, items and materials which come into contact with food and animal feed, also on the basis of monitoring of the following key factors: residues of substances or their metabolites with pharmacological action and other substances that may lag behind animal tissues, organs and/or products of animal origin and animal feed, residues of pesticides in food, microbiological criteria in food, food contaminants, undesirable substances in animal feed, food and feed to the presence of genetically modified material, compliance with the composition and quality of food, food information and other related known issues.
This Programme also identifies the types of hazards in food, items and materials in contact with food and feed, including the rules for checking the composition and quality of certain food category, food labelling and providing mandatory information on food, health and nutritional claims, conditions and manner of conducting monitoring, manner of sampling, methods for laboratory tests, financial resources required to fund this kind of national programme, among associated activities and measures for better implementation of prescribed requirements and actions as regards the possible presence of hazards in food and feed.
