Abstract
This text here prescribes the 2020 Montenegrin national Programme of mandatory animal health measures.
Animal health protection is carried out to ensure: breeding and production of healthy animals, safe, healthy and correct products of animal origin and animal feed, protection of humans from zoonoses, protection of animal welfare and protection of environment.
The Programme determines preventive measures for the purpose of monitoring, preventing the occurrence, detection, control and eradication of infectious and parasitic diseases; including the manner of their implementation, entities that will implement them, manner of providing and using funds, manner of control, manner for necessary reporting; as well as other conditions for their implementation. Implementation of measures is mandatory in the entire epizootiological area of Montenegro, appropriate to the degree of danger and also based on the effective epizootiological situation from previous periods.
This Programme of measures creates preconditions for harmonization of the field of animal health protection rules with European Union requirements, which are related to obtaining and maintaining the health status of farms as regards the possible presence of certain infectious diseases.
