Abstract
Based on the provisions of article 90 of the Montenegrin Veterinary Law, this Programme sets planned annual (for the year 2022) mandatory animal health measures. The protection of animal health is carried out in order to ensure: breeding and production of healthy animals, safe and healthy products of animal origin food and animal feed, protection of people from zoonoses, protection of animal welfare and protection of environment in general. This Programme of mandatory animal health protection measures regards also preventive measures which are here determined in order to monitor, prevent the occurrence, detection, control and eradication of infectious and parasitic diseases; this text also indicates the manner for their implementation, entities that will implement the same, sources, manner of provision and use of necessary funds, manner of control, manner of reporting, as well as other conditions for their implementation. Implementation of measures is mandatory on the entire epizootiological area of Montenegro, appropriate to the degree of danger and in relation to the epizootiological situation from previous periods. The Programme of measures creates preconditions for harmonization in the field of animal health protection with EU requirements, which relate to obtaining and maintaining health status of farms in relation to certain communicable diseases (including the Animal Disease Notification System).
