Abstract
This Regulation stipulates the necessary animal health and animal sanitary measures aimed to offer methods for the prevention, detection, suppression and eradication of horse plague (equidae disease).
Some of the rules here prescribed are related to the virological, serological, clinical or epizootiological test and monitoring techniques.
This Regulation also transposes the rules and principles contained in the following documents: Council Directive 92/35/EEC of 29 April 1992 laying down control rules and measures to combat African horse sickness; and Council Directive 2009/156/EC of 30 November 2009 on animal health conditions governing the movement and importation from third countries of equidae.
