Abstract
This Regulation prescribes various measures, all aimed to offer a complete set of rules as regards the necessary prevention, suppression and eradication of the avian influenza in poultry, other birds kept in confinement, pigs, other animals and wild birds.
The rules here provided are also defining the method for establishing the boundaries of the infected and endangered areas; official controls; and many other provisions important for practices and sanitary measures to be adopted (in case of avian influenza outbreak and/or occurrence).
This Regulation transposes the rules contained in the Council Directive 2005/94/EC on Community measures for the control of avian influenza and repealing Directive 92/40/EEC.
