Abstract
This Regulation prescribes the minimum quality terms, conditions for production and marketing of salt intended for human consumption and production of food.
Salt for human consumption should meet all necessary conditions here laid down, and must not be a by-product of chemical industry or a product deriving form technical processes such as chemical synthesis.
Article 6 sets the labelling rules. Article 10 provides for the list of standards to be used when performing tests on quality of salt for human consumption.
The Annex is also part of this publication (containing the list of possible names or appellatives that can be used for describing/labelling salt that is placed on the market).
