Regulation on phytosanitary measures for the prevention of spread of the harmful organism potato spindle tuber viroid, which causes wilt in potatoes.

This Regulation prescribes the plant protection/phytosanitary measures aimed for preventing the spread of the harmful organism called potato spindle tuber viroid, which causes wilt in tubers.
Article 2 defines the procedures in case of potato contamination suspicion; article 3 determiens that if a laboratory test confirms the infection of certain plants, the phytosanitary inspector shall order specific actions as listed: destruction by burning; hygiene measures to be implemented during the destruction of infected plants; possible implementation of additional phytosanitary measures.
This text lists the following plants as subject to these rules: potatoes (Solanum tuberosum), tomatoes (Solanum lycopersicum), ornamental plant such as Brugmansia sp. and Solanum jasminoides, and does not exclude other possible host plant varieties.
