Abstract
This Regulation, with the aim of direct prevention of the introduction of particularly dangerous infectious diseases called African swine fever on the territory of Montenegro, sets the terms for the ban on imports and transit of all consignments of domestic and wild pigs, meat and pig products, if originating or transiting in Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Italy (only Sardinia region) and other countries in which there is a suspicion of such disease outbreak or suspicion over its possible presence.
The above mentioned ban is related to live domestic and wild swine; genetic material, embryos and fertilized ovine cells derived from domestic and wild swine; fresh and frozen meat of domestic and wild swine; meat products derived from domestic and wild swine, other than meat that is thermally treated as described in the article 2 of this text; skin derived from domestic and wild swine (except tanned leather) and trophies that are not treated in order to destroy the African swine fever virus; and unprocessed products deriving from domestic and wild pigs.
Specific sanitary requirements and rules, to be observed when importing or transiting other animals that can be affected by this disease, are listed in the article 4.
