Abstract
These Regulations lay down rules for the conservation of coastal marine resources; management of aquarium fishery; collection, holding, purchasing, sale and export of marine ornamentals; measures to control and support local governments' capacity; protection of the environment; monitoring of the activities related to marine ornamentals to ensure sustainable aquarium fishery. These Regulations shall apply to marine ornamentals, which are live rock and live animals such as fish, aquatic plants and any species of invertebrates including coral. These Regulations set forth provisions on the application procedures and terms and conditions for licensing for export of marine ornamentals; conservation and management measures; total allowable catch and annual export quota for specific species; restrictions on fishing gear and methods; biosecurity measures; and offences and penalties.
