Abstract
This Act lays down provisions on the right to a system of local government; local government areas; the legal status of local governments; minimum requirements of the constitutions of local governments; amalgation and transfer of property; the establishment of a Local Government Fund for the specific purpose of acting as a channel through which monies may be granted by the Government of the Marshall Islands to local governments; and vesting of certain Central Government functions in local governments.
