Abstract
An Act to provide for the protection of dolphins and other marine mammals captured in the course of commercial fishing operations in the eastern tropical Pacific Ocean by flag vessels of the Republic of the Marshall Islands.
The 13 sections of the Act carry the following titles: Short title (1); Legislative findings (2); Scope and application (3); Vessel operating permits required (4); International program (5); Records (6); Safety Panel (7); Permittee requirements (8); Prohibition (9); Peer Review Panel (10); Regulations (11); Violations and Penalties (12); Jurisdiction of courts (13).
Species to be protected are specified in paragraph 3. Vessels fishing of the Marshall Islands fishing for tuna in specified areas shall obtain a vessel operating permit.
