Marine Zone (Declaration) Act 1984 (Parts relating to the Exclusive Economic Zone).

The text consists of 16 Sections divided into 3 Parts: Preliminary (I); The Marine Zones (II); Transitional and Effective Date (III).
The Law provides for an EEZ of 200 nautical miles measured from the baselines from which the breadth of the territorial sea is measured. The Cabinet may declare points between which straight baselines are to be drawn for the determining of the outer limits of the EEZ. Where the median line is less than 200 nautical miles from which the breadth of the Territorial Sea is to be measured, the outer limits of the EEZ extend only to the median line (sect. 8). Section 10 specifies sovereign rights of the Marshall Island in respect of the Zone. Section 12 provides for regulation making powers of the Cabinet in respect of the Zone. Section 15: "Nothing in this Act is intended to affect any right, power, privilege or authority of the United States or any of its agencies or instrumentalities under the Trusteeship Agreement".
