These Regulations implement provisions of the Marine Resources Act, 1997 in relation to, among other things: authorizations required under the Act; licensing procedures and requirements; transhipment; fish export certification; vessel reporting requirements; and exportation of fish. Licenses here regulated include; a trail fishing license; fishing vessel license; live fish capture license; fish export facility license; and aquaculture license.

These Regulations supersede all previous regulations promulgated under the Marine Resources Act 1987, and repeal the Regulations Governing Cash Rewards as Incentives for Reporting Information Leading to the Conviction of Violators of the Marshall Islands Marine Resources Act, 1992.
