Regulation on the criteria for determining the zones sensitive to urban wastewater discharge.

This Regulation, based on the provisions of the Law on waters, prescribes the criteria which shall be used for determining zones of water bodies that are sensitive to urban wastewater discharge. The purpose of this text is to control related emissions that are discharged into water bodies and to protect the environment from harmful effects of discharged urban wastewater. Areas sensitive to urban wastewater discharge may be less sensitive or sensitive, which is determined by the quality of water body, the purpose of the water of that water body and in accordance with its specific natural properties and characteristics. This Regulation is harmonized with the provisions of the Council Directive 91/271/EEC concerning urban waste water treatment.
