Directive No. 4/2020 to control and restrict the use of antibiotics as growth promoters in animal feed.

This Directive bans certain antibiotics and growth hormones to be used in the preparation, production, and sale of animal feed. Further, certain conditions are imposed on the use of other antibiotics in animal feed. The Directive lays down the labelling requirements on animal feed bags which must be separated as conventional feed and medicated feed. Post market surveillance shall be conducted to ensure compliance with this directive and failure to comply shall result in action under the Animal Health and Livestock Development Law.
