Abstract
These Regulations require persons (whether manufacturer, distributor or importer) who are responsible for the placing on the market of any chemical substance or preparation on the market in Malta to provide the (professional) recipient of such substances or preparations with a safety data sheet containing the information set out in regulation 5 and the Schedule. Providing such a data sheet is compulsory if the substance or preparation is classified as dangerous in accordance with the Dangerous Substances (Notification) Regulations or the Dangerous Substances and Preparations Regulations. Otherwise the data sheet shall be provided on the request of the recipient. The data sheet is not necessary where the dangerous substance or preparation is sold to the general public with certain precautions, but must be supplied at the request of an industrial user.
