Abstract
Regulations relative to various actions to be taken by manufactures, distributors and importers of dangerous chemical substances in the framework of the European Communities, such as investigation of, testing, classification, labelling and notification of such substances. These Regulations concern: the notification of substances; (b) the exchange of information on notified substances; (c) the assessment of potential risk to man and the environment of notified substances; and (d) classification, packaging and labelling of substances dangerous to man or the environment. They do not apply, among others, to food, feeding stuffs, pesticides, and other substances for which European Communities approval or notification procedures exist and for the requirements are equivalent to those laid down in these Regulations (reg. 2). Regulation 3.2 defines "dangerous regulations". Section 12.1 concerns notification of substances manufactured outside the European Community.
