Eco-Contribution (Exemptions) (Amendment) Regulations, 2021 (L.N. 258 of 2021).

These regulations amend the Eco Contribution (Exemptions) Regulations ("principalregulations"). In regulation 2 the definition"Resource, Recovery and Recycling Agency" is substituted by the new definition "Circular Economy Malta". Sub-regulation (5) of regulation 4 provides for an exception to the thresholds set as a requirement to obtain the payment of eco-contribution where the producer proves his participation in a circular economy initiative, or his investment in it, of a sum equivalent to or higher than the amount of eco-contribution which would have been due.
