Abstract
By way of implementation of the provisions laid down under Directive 1999/74/EC, these Regulations establish minimum standards for the protection of laying hens. The provisions shall not apply neither to establishments with fewer than 350 laying hens, nor to establishments rearing breeding laying hens. The Regulations are divided into the following Chapters: (I) Provisions applicable to alternative systems; (II) Provisions applicable to rearing in unenriched cage systems; (III) Provisions applicable to rearing in enriched cages; and (IV) Final provisions.
