Abstract
This Act provides for the constitution and functioning of Producers Organizations and Interbranch Organizations. “Producer organizations” are voluntary legally constituted bodies of producers in the agricultural and fisheries sector. “Interbranch Organizations” shall be associations made up of representatives of production, trading or processing sectors of the agricultural or fisheries industries. Organizations require approval of the Director of Agriculture or the Director of Fisheries, as the case may be. The Minister responsible for agriculture and fisheries shall prescribe rules for the operation of Producer Organizations.
