Abstract
These Regulations have been adopted to transpose at national level Directive 2002/95/EC concerning the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. In particular, new electrical and electronic equipment put on the market shall not contain lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls or polybrominated diphenyl ethers in excess of the levels which are deemed hazardous. A committee is to be set up according to regulation 5.
