Restrictions on Placing on the Market of Single-Use Plastic Products (Amendment) Regulations, 2022.

These regulations amend the Restrictions on Placing on the Market of Single-Use Plastic Products Regulations. They amend sub-regulation (1) of regulation 2 concerning the transposition of Directive (EU) 2019/904 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 5 June 2019 on the reduction of the impact of certain plastic products on the environment. A new sub-regulation (1a) is added to specify that the regulations must be read and construed in conjunction with the Single-Use Plastic Framework Regulations.
Also regulation 3 is amended to provide some definitions for the interpretation of the text, such as oxo-degradable plastic, making available on the market, packaging.
Regulation 4 is amended to add a sub-regulation (1a) prohibiting The placing on the market of the single-use plastic products listed in Part B of the Schedule annexed to the text. Also a new sub-regulation (3) is added that prohibits the placing on the market of the single-use plastic products referred to in Part B of Schedule 1 to the Single-Use Plastic Framework Regulations that do not comply with regulation 6 of the said regulations.
Finally, the Schedule to the principal regulations is substituted by a new Schedule.
