Abstract
These regulations amend the Waste Management (Waste Batteries and Accumulators) Regulations. Sub-regulation 1 of regulation 2 is amended to reflect the updates in the European legislation. A sub-regulation 4 is added to place the regulations in the context of the provisions of theExtended Producer Responsibility FrameworkRegulations, 2021. Also a regulation 14 A is added providing for incentives for the application of the waste hierarchy. Sub-regulation 4 of regulation 24 is also revised and so are some definitions all over the text.
