Waste Management (Waste Batteries and Accumulators) Regulations, 2010 (L.N. 55 of 2010).

The objective of these provisions is to maximize the separate collection of waste batteries and accumulators and on the other hand to minimize the disposal of waste batteries and accumulators as mixed municipal waste in order to achieve a high level of recycling for all waste batteries and accumulators. These Regulations provide additional measures, procedures and guidance to those in the Waste Management (Permit and Control) Regulations of 2001, which aim at establishing specific rules for the collection, treatment, recycling and disposal of waste batteries and accumulators to promote a high level of collection and recycling of waste batteries and accumulators.
