Abstract
No person shall discharge, or cause to be discharged effluent into the ocean: (a) unless it complies with the standards prescribed in the Schedule to this Regulation; (b) at a distance less than 300 metres off the reef barrier and at a depth of less than 30 metres where there is a lagoon; or (c) at a distance less than 500 metres from the High Water Mark at spring tide and at a depth of less than 25 metres where there is no lagoon. At any rate, no person shall discharge any effluent into the ocean at a point where sea currents will cause effluent to be taken back into the lagoon. “Effluent” means water sullied or contaminated by any matter, in solution or suspension and derived from the use of the water in connection with domestic, industrial or other activities.
