Abstract
As established in this Regulation the Permanent Secretary may give authorization to conduct, for the purpose of research, the fishing of sharks and collection of any biological sample of sharks, according to the terms and conditions that he establishes.
The regulation sets otherwise prohibitions to the fishing of sharks or the use of particular fishing traps to catch them and provides detailed instructions, including the immediate release in the sea, for the case that a person catches a live shark in the Mauritius territorial sea and for the case that the master or operator of a vessel catches a shark in a maritime zone
