Abstract
These Regulations, made under the Fisheries and Marine Resources Act, lay down rules relative to the exportation of fish and fish products from Mauritius.
The Regulations require exporters to be registered with the Division of Veterinary Services (DVS) of the Ministry of Agro Industry and Fisheries and prohibit the exportation of fish and fish products unless the person that exports from Mauritius any fish or fish product: (a) is the holder of an export health certificate; (b) complies with the standards applicable in the importing country; and (c) receives the approval of the Minister and of the Permanent Secretary as required under section 27 of the Act.
“Standards applicable in the importing country", in relation to a member state of the European Union, means the standards specified in the First Schedule to these Regulations in so far as they apply to fish and fish products.
Other Schedules to these Regulations specify minimum criteria of export premises for registration and concern fees and the content of health certificates.
