Forests and Reserves (Protection of Protected Plants) Regulations, Government Notice no. 238 of 2024.

These Regulations, made by the Minister under section 17 of the Forests and Reserves Act, provide for protection measures of sandalwood plant and related matters within State land, private forest land or reserves. The Regulations concern: prohibiting the uproot of sandalwood plant and the exploitation of its roots; prohibiting cutting or felling of protected plants, with due exceptions, including cutting and felling for purpose of forestry or agricultural research; application for a phytosanitary certificate, in order to allow the exportation of protected plants.
