Abstract
This Act provides rules for the tourist industry and makes provision for the establishment of the Tourist Authority and the licensing of tourist enterprises.
The Tourist Authority, the main advisory and regulatory body of the tourist industry in Mauritius, is established as a body corporate under section 3. The functions of the Authority are defined in section 4. The Authority shall be governed by a Board that may, in the exercise of its functions, set up such committees as it thinks fit. The Tourism Advisory Committee is established under section 21. It shall advise the Minister on all matters relating to the sustainability of the tourism industry. Sections 23 to 36 provide for the licensing of tourist enterprises, a precise definition of which is given in the Schedule to this Act.

Notes
