Abstract
This Act establishes the Tourism Authority of Mauritius as a body corporate and provides for its functions, powers and organization. In addition, the Act provides rules for a wide variety of matters concerning the tourist industry in Mauritius including the licensing of tourist enterprises and the registration and licensing of pleasure crafts.
The Authority shall, among other things, promote the sustainable development of the tourism industry and develop tourism and implement tourism related projects. It shall be administered and managed by a Board.
