Abstract
This Act amends the Waste Water Management Authority Act 2000 by: (a) giving definitions of "ground water" (which has the same meaning as in section 2 of Ground Water Act) and "public sewer" which means a sewer that is under the operation, maintenance and supervision of the Authority; (b) adding a new section (37a) introducing a prohibition on free disposal of effluent and wastewater; and (c) inserting in section 25 immediately after the words "as may be prescribed under this Act" the following words, “the Ground Water Act".
This Act also amends section 21A of the Central Water Authority Act by adding a subsection (3) to section 21A on waiver by the Central Water Authority of surcharges imposed under section 21 upon a request from the Wastewater Management Authority.
