Abstract
These Regulations, made under provisions of Act no. 8/2020 (Water and Sewerage Act), provide for water abstraction, draining water from land and discharge for construction and other industrial projects, with the purposes to prevent pollution of the potable water, and to reduce damages to the environment. Matters covered by these Regulations include: sustainable use and management of natural water resources of the country; installing a well and taking water from the ground for individual purposes; extraction of water by drilling boreholes; issuance of permission to extract water from the ground and discharge it into the sea; specific requirements for using extracted water for irrigation purposes; liability in case of damages occurring during water abstraction procedures; discharged of extracted water into land and treatment of water; analysis for establishing the quality of discharged water; administrative fines and penalties.
