Abstract
These Rules concern the quarantine of animals imported into Malawi and stray animals suffering from disease. They also require owners of land on which carcasses of stray animals are found to bury or burn such carcasses and to inform the police and prohibit the removal of grass, dung, etc. from areas where animals are quarantined or isolated. The Chief Veterinary Officer shall have the powers to sell unclaimed animals and may erect fences on (private) land for the purpose of isolation or quarantine of animals.
