Abstract
These Rules, made under section 13 of the Cotton Ordinance, 1949 and deemed to be made under section 18 of the Cotton Act, prescribe the form of: licences to gin and sale cotton; applications for licences to buy seed cotton grown by tenants on a private estate; licences to buy seed cotton grown by tenants on a private estate; applications for licences to buy seed cotton grown on customary land; and licences to buy seed cotton grown on customary land. The Rules also: prescribe as condition of every licence to gin and bale cotton the regular completion by the licensee of a return in Form B in the Schedule and sending of the return to the Minister; prescribe conditions for a licence to buy seed cotton grown by tenants on a private estate or grown on customary land; provide for the payment of fees; provide for the power of the licensing officer to refuse a licence; and provide for appeals with the Minister against decisions of the licensing officer.
