Abstract
This Act provides rules for the (control of) the placing on the market of fertilizers in Malawi. It assigns regulation-making powers to the minister responsible for agriculture and requires the Ministry of Agriculture to control the quality of fertilizers distributed in Malawi.
Fertilizers shall only be sold or imported in accordance with the terms and conditions of a certificate of registration as shall be prescribed by Regulations made under this Act. The Minister, among other things, shall provide for the establishment and operation of the Malawi Regulatory Service and the Malawi Fertilizer Advisory Committee. The Service may seize fertilizer that is not complying with provisions of this Act or Regulations made under it. An Inspection Fund is established within the Ministry of Agriculture.

An Act to protect the fertilizer consumer and persons selling fertilizer in Malawi by assuring that all fertilizer sold, or offered for sale, in Malawi is in compliance with the provisions of this Act and any regulations enacted under this Act.
