Abstract
These Regulations implement provisions of the Fertilizers, Farm Feeds, and Remedies Act with respect to registration, labelling and handling of fertilizers.
The 13 regulations are divided into 4 Parts: Registration (I); Labelling of containers (II); Sampling and analyses (III); General (IV).
Regulations 3 to 5 concern application for registration of fertilizers and approval for registration. The Fourth Schedule specifies standards for fertilizers.
Regulation 5 concerns appeal against decisions of the registering officer under section 10 of the Act. Provisions of Part II specify indications for labelling of containers and information to be included in invoices. Regulation 8 prescribes the method of taking samples by inspectors. A certificate of sampling shall be released in the form as included in Schedule 2. Characteristics of fertilizers shall remain unaltered after registration (reg. 15). (Completed by six Schedules: Schedule 4 specifies minimum required fineness of fertilizer; Schedule 5 specifies limits of variation; Schedule 6 specifies methods of analysis)
