Fertilizers, Farm Feeds and Remedies Act (Cap. 67:04).

This Act provides rules for the manufacture, importation and placing on the market of fertilizers, farm feeds and certain remedies, and substances of animal origin intended for the manufacture of fertilizers or farm feeds. No person shall sell fertilizers, farm feed or remedy unless registered under this Act. Also plants used for sterilizing of animal products shall be registered. The Act lays down procedures of registration. The registering officer may impose conditions in regard of any registration, as he or she thinks fit. Appeal may be filed with the Minister against decision of the registering officer. "Remedy" is a substance for the fighting of noxious pests or diseases affecting plants or animals. "Farm feed" is any substance of animal origin, which is intended or offered for the feeding of poultry, domestic animals or livestock and any substance declared by the Minister to be a farm feed. The Minister may establish any number of committees for the following functions: (a) to advise the Minister on matters relating to the registration, sell and use of fertilizers, farm feeds or remedies; (b) to keep a record of fertilizers, farm feeds or remedies; and (c) to consider and deal with such matters as the Minister may refer to it or require of it. The Act also provides for the appointment and powers of inspectors, offences and penalties, criminal proceedings, publication of returns and compensation in the case a farm is sold otherwise than in accordance with provisions of this Act.
