Abstract
These Regulations regulate the grading and marking of carcasses of cattle, sheep, and goats, and related matters. Regulation 3 specifies grades for cattle to be graded to a Government Grader at a slaughterhouse. Carcasses shall be marked accordingly. Regulation 5 specifies grades for carcasses of sheep, whereas regulation 7 specifies grades for carcasses of goats. Any persons whose carcasses have been graded by a Government Grader may lodge appeal with the Secretary of Agriculture under regulation 8. No carcasses shall be sold, distributed, etc. unless graded and marked in accordance with the present Regulations. Imported carcasses of sheep shall show a mark of the country of origin. Regulation 12 outlines powers of inspectors, whereas regulation 16 concerns the licensing of abattoirs. The Regulations are completed by three Schedules: manner of grading of cattle carcasses and live cattle (I); Manner of grading of sheep and goat carcasses (II); Abattoir licence (III).
