Electricity Supply (Amendment) Act 2024.

This Act, consisting of 7 Sections, aims to amend the Electricity Supply Act 1990 by removing all provisions related to the efficient use of electricity. This includes deleting phrases from the long title and sections 4 and 11, and completely repealing Part V A, dedicated to the efficient use of Electricity. The amendment transfers the regulation of electricity efficiency to the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act 2024, including saving and transitional provisions for a smooth transition. Any pending applications or existing certificates, orders, and reports concerning electricity efficiency are now considered to fall under the new Act. However, any ongoing enforcement actions, such as prosecutions or seizures, will continue under the old Act as if the amendment had not occurred.
