Abstract
These Rules amend the Fish Marketing Rules 2010 to revise provisions concerning the designation and determination of wholesale markets, retail markets, and legal entry or exit points for the marketing, import, and export of fish and fish products. Under the amended provisions, the Fisheries Development Authority of Malaysia (Lembaga) is empowered to determine any place as a wholesale market or a retail market for the purpose of fish marketing. Furthermore, the definition of a legal entry or exit point is updated to mean any location determined by the Lembaga as an authorized point for fish import and export operations. The Rules mandate that any fish intended for import or export must pass through such determined legal entry or exit points. Additionally, specific operational terms throughout the principal Rules are updated, substituting the former requirement for places to be "gazetted" with a determination procedure carried out directly by the Lembaga.
