Abstract
These Rules concern the establishment of the Danum Valley Conservation Area Management Committee to advise the Director of the Forest Department on the conservation and protection of the Danum Valley Reserve as a permanent tropical rain forest for the purposes of scientific research, recreation, and protection of ecology, environment and climatic condition (rule 2). Representatives of various organizations listed in rule 2 shall take part in the Committee. The Committee shall plan, co-ordinate, facilitate, monitor and evaluate the management objectives outlined in rule 3. Objectives include the protection of biodiversity. Powers and functions of the Committee are described in rule 4.
