Abstract
The present Act consists of six Parts: (I) Preliminary; (II) Authority; (III) Chairman, Deputy Chairman, Officers and Servants of the Authority; (IV) Finance; (V) Other Powers of the Authority; (VI) General. Two Schedules are attached.
Section 3 provides for the setting up of the body corporate “Kemubu Agricultural Development Authority”, which shall in particular exercise the following functions: (a) to promote, enhance and undertake economic and social development in the Kawasan Kemubu: (b) to plan the agricultural development of the Kawasan Kemubu. The Authority shall cooperate with the Government of the Federation or of the State, with public authorities, companies and corporations. Under section 5 is regulated the membership of the Authority. The Minister may from time to time give direction to the Authority hereby established, which shall also have the duty to forward to the former the reports and information required (section 11). For the allocation of financial resources in implementation of these provisions, section 17 establishes a special Fund to be administered and maintained by the Authority. Other powers of the latter (specified under Part V) are making loans, the acquisition of lands and the establishment of corporations.
