Decree No. 16/2015 establishing the Regulation on the management and control of plastic bag.

This Law, consisting of 2 Chapters, establishes the Regulation on the management and control of plastic bag. This Regulation establishes procedures for the management and control of the plastic bag, with regard to its production, import, sale and use in order to reduce negative impacts on human health and the environment in general and applies to all public and private entities, natural and legal persons involved in the production, import, sale and use of plastic bags in the country. Offences and penalties are appended to the text. This Regulation applies to all public and private entities, natural and legal persons involved in the production, import, sale and use of plastic bag in the country. In addition, it specifies that the following provisions enter into force 180 days after publication of this Decree, relating to: a) import ban on plastic bags, whose proceedings are in progress; banning the production of the plastic bag with the characteristics described in paragraphs 1 and 2 of Article 4 and prohibition of resale.
