Decree No. 26/2011 creating and approving the new Statute of the Environmental Fund (FUNAB).

This Decree creates and approves the new Statute of the Environmental Fund (FUNAB). This Statutes, consisting of 6 Chapters, establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of FUNAB, entitled to promote activities aiming at guaranteeing the sustainable development and the climate change effects mitigation. This administrative entity is entitled to finance any activity of investigation, research and programme related to the valorisation of the Mozambican natural resources and guarantee to the citizens the right to live in a safe and clean environment. In addition, this Fund will financially support activities of management, promotion and conservation of the environment; will contribute in promoting activities related to the rational management of environmental protected areas, rehabilitation or recover of degraded areas; support performance in technical and scientific activities, aiming at the introduction of clean and safe technologies to promote the sustainable development, etc.
